This city located at the Main river has seen many famous visitors. Emperor Frederick Barbarossa was married here, Walther von der Vogelweide was buried here and in 1895, Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen discovered the X-rays.
Today, Würzburg strives from the university and technical college with its approximately 30,000 students. Accordingly, the city offers a large range of art, culture and gastronomy. The Stein vineyards is world-renowned and has even impressed the great German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Since then the wine has become even better and therefore visitors should make sure to try a glass or two of their quality wines.
Würzburg is certainly not the centre of the world, but always worth a visit.
