near Bad Essen, with its fairytale -halftimbered architecture, you walk along the canal and through old orchards which are in full blossom in spring to ancient castles. Sit below old dovetowers and enjoy a tea in the castles café, the former gardeners home or see the private collections in one of the castles sidewings, set up as a small museum. you pass along historic alleys, old homesteads, through lush forests and amazing gardens.
