Olgas Rock, Ruhr in Love (during summer)
Discover 150 years of industrial history on the 400 km long "Route der Industriekultur". 52 witnesses of the industrial past and present have been arranged into thematic units. Our tour begins at Eisenheim, the oldest working settlement in Europe – here you can experience the real feeling of the Ruhr area and its people. We continue to the Gasometer, an impressive 117m tall it is ideal for a bird’s eye view of the Ruhr area. We then take a boat over to Europe’s largest inland harbour, in Duisburg where you can join the locals and relax by the water beer in hand. After sunset we finish our tour in the "Landschaftspark Duisburg Nord". Climbing up one of the now dormant blast furnaces you will be surprised at just how romantic an industrial area like the Ruhrgebiet can be at night-time.
