SUGGESTED DAYTRIP:
Start behind the hostel: take the small path along the city vinyard hill „Schlossberg“ into the forest. Catch the track marked by a white „K“ on a red diamond. After 2 hours of walking you reach the peak of the „Rosskopf“ (737 m). There is an old lookout tower built in 1893, surrounded by the rich black forest impressions. Enjoy! Take the direct track back via St. Ottilien, old forest cathedral built in the year 789 with a cafe and a restaurant near by. Following the river Dreisam back to the hostel you might find a nature stone pool that fits your needs. Enjoy the relaxing fresh mountainwater. Swim if you like!
